If we could tell you anything it’s to get excited for this first step on what could be a lifelong journey of peace, joy and transformation! We’d love to see you 15 minutes before your first class starts so that we can get you checked in, give you the grand tour and get you set-up with enough time for you to settle in and enjoy a few peaceful moments before class begins. Bring a mat, water, a towel for heated classes and an open mind. Trust that we will welcome you with open arms and our instructors will assist you throughout class in making your experience helpful and meaningful!
As the signs on our doors say, “No shoes, no cell phones, no judgment.” This is your time to unplug and the less distractions in the studio area the better experience for you and those around you! If you are on call or have a special circumstance, please let your instructor know before class and place yourself near the exit of the studio room in case you do need to slip out.
You know your body best. Proper hydration and fuel are important for a strong practice so it can be helpful to have a small snack 1-2 hours before class. Many clients also find that bringing a water bottle to class helps them stay hydrated and feel better throughout practice, especially in heated classes.
Most athletic attire will do. For ladies, it’s generally tank tops and yoga pants. For the dudes, it’s generally athletic shorts and t-shirts. For heated classes, moisture-wicking fabric is helpful. Ideally your clothing does not become a distraction, so close fitting clothing tends to work best so long as you are comfortable! To avoid extra slippage, we recommend practicing barefoot.
Yes! Due to updated health and safety practices, we are no longer loaning mats and props. If you do not have a mat or need some additional props (i.e., blocks, blankets and/or bolsters) to support you during class, we have a selection available for sale in each of our studios.
It will largely depend on your needs and desires, but a few great options to start are:
Fundamental Flow & Power Fundamentals – if you want to get both the strengthening and flexibility benefits of yoga. These classes move at a more moderate pace and instructors will take time each class to break down the basics.
Slow Flow & Slow Flow + Deep Stretch – if you have more of a concern with flexibility and/or have any lingering mobility issues or are recovering from injury. These classes are slowed way down and poses are held longer to increase the potential for increased range of motion and release of restrictions in muscles and fascia.
Relax & Restore – if you are craving a means for stress reduction and simply to zone out while gently stretching, then this class is for you! There is a high focus on mindfulness and restoring the sense of harmony between the body and mind.
Yoga will definitely benefit you! Flexibility is an effect of yoga not a pre-requisite. Everybody comes with varying capabilities and everything we do in class can be adapted and adjusted. A regular yoga practice is a wonderful opportunity to bring balance to your body and to get stronger, more flexible and feel at ease – set your excuses aside and show up to see for yourself!
Since every child differs in developmental and physical capabilities as well as attention span, determining whether or not your child is able to fully participate in an adult class is largely up to your discretion. We do typically find that at about ages 12-13, children are able to make it through an entire class with enough focus and stamina as not to interrupt your experience or the experience of those around them. If you have questions as to whether or not your child is ready, please ask one of your instructors. Note: parents must be present to complete a waiver at their child’s first visit.
We are excited to now give you the option to practice live with us in the comfort of your home! To participate in a live stream class, simply register for the class just as you would one of our in studio classes. These classes are included with membership and as a part of class packages or you can purchase a single class for $16. Within 30 minutes of the class start time, you will receive an email with the dedicated link to view the class. Be sure to check your promotions and junk/spam folders as sometimes these emails land there.

Our childcare options are temporarily on pause due to COVID-19. We anticipate once again offering childcare at our Grandview, New Albany and Powell locations offer childcare for children 6 weeks and up during select class times come mid-July. Once our schedule is back online, you can view childcare options through the Childcare tab in our online schedule.
For the safety of your kiddos we do limit spots in our childcare rooms to maintain a 6:1 child to provider ratio. Please pre-register your children to ensure they have a spot before showing up with them at the studio. Note: in order to register your child in Mindbody, you have to create a separate login and profile. If you prefer to not do this, you can pre-register in studio or by calling (614) 792-9642.
As a courtesy to others who may be trying to register, if you aren’t going to make a class, we ask that you cancel reservations in your online account at least 2 hours prior to the start time to avoid losing credit for the class (drop-in, class package and lite membership clients) or being charged a $10 no show fee (unlimited members). You can cancel your reservations in the My Schedule section of Mindbody here.
In the event you are waitlisted, you will receive an email if a spot opens. If you don’t receive notification, you may still show up to see if there are last minute openings. We do ask that you respect the instructor’s attempts to create space first for those with reservations.
For the safety of you and your belongings, in most instances we lock the studio doors at the time class is scheduled to start. If you arrive and the door is locked, please respect the experience of those in class and refrain from knocking on the doors and/or windows.
Our digital studios (online videos) are run through third party platforms and therefore you must cancel any subscriptions for those inside of those platforms. If you go into the My Account section in either Namastream or Vimeo, you will see the option to manage your subscriptions. Within that section, follow the prompts to cancel.
We ask that any changes to your membership be submitted in writing via our Status Change Form. To get a copy of this form, either email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the front desk before or after your next class.
