Barre has quickly become a favored form of fitness across the United States as people seek different forms of exercise to improve strength, flexibility and balance, maintain strong immune and cardiovascular functioning and alleviate stress and tension from their bodies and minds. Originally derived from ballet movements and techniques, Barre classes are low impact, high intensity and incorporate mindfulness techniques to help with focus, self awareness and presence. This energizing, full body workout, not only strengthens and stretches core muscle groups but can improve posture, boost cardio intake, reduce stress and boost mood. Similar to yoga, Barre can be modified to a variety of bodies and fitness levels and is a great complement to other activities.

Whether you are interested in teaching Barre classes or simply wish to learn more about Barre movements and techniques, our Level 1 Barre Training will give you the knowledge, insights and best practices to help you grow in your own awareness + gain the confidence to share with others if you desire!

About Katie:

Katie Wrabel has her Advanced Instructor Certification from Barre Intensity and has been teaching for over 2 years. She started taking barre classes in 2018 when she left her position as an English teacher to move to Dublin and pursue a writing career. Initially she took Barre classes to meet and connect with people, but the joy she found in the lengthened, graceful movements of barre transformed her life. She became a barre instructor to share that joy with others.

Katie has a master’s degree in Literature from Ohio University and is currently a senior technical writer at a software company. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, baking, and taking yoga and barre classes.
