Kids Yoga Teacher Training

Just like adults, kids can benefit greatly from learning about the fundamentals of yoga. From boosting their mental focus to building physical strength, introducing kids to yoga at an early age will instill a greater sense of confidence, mindfulness, body awareness and other important mental and emotional development skills to help them throughout their lives!
As moms and yoga teachers, Carrie and Betty are passionate about teaching you how to share the incredible tools of yoga with children. Whether you plan to share the benefits of yoga with your own kids, incorporate mindfulness exercises into your professional settings or teach kids yoga classes, our Kids Yoga Teacher Training will equip you with a wealth of knowledge, inspiration and practical tools to make an impact in the younger generations.
Training Topics Include:
- How to interact and relate to children to get them to engage with you
- Why yoga for children is important
- Breathing & calming techniques
- Age appropriate techniques for building social / emotional skills and mindfulness

- Kids anatomy
- Breaking down poses for kids (using their language)
- Approaching each class by age group
- Sensory / Special Needs considerations

Meet Our Trainers:
Betty is a 200 hour certified yoga teacher with additional training in kids yoga. She is also a retired elementary school teacher and grandmother who teaches weekly kids yoga classes at Powell. Her classes are filled with playful activities and mindfulness games. She loves using her skills as an educator to connect with kids and support their growth in a meaningful way.
Carrie Downey is a 200 hour certified yoga teacher, a mother of 2 young children and the co-owner of GoYoga. She not only has a passion for sharing yoga with kids but she understands the importance of leading by example with her own practice which allows her to be a calmer and more present mother.
“The wealth of knowledge that both trainers brought to the table was beyond comparison! I received so many resources, references, and a great platform to work from to begin teaching not only a kids yoga class, but MY kids as well! I am so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful group of yogi’s devoting so much of themselves to our community!” – Monique
“I liked the opportunity to observe a kids yoga class in action. I learn best hands on and the training provided an opportunity to do so. I liked that we had the chance to share different ideas and/or perspectives with each other and the instructors.” – Jennifer
